CoachCian Support

Personal running coach for iPhone & Apple Watch

Need help or have feedback?

Email coachciansupport@gmail.com and we'll get back to you. Including your iOS version and what you were doing helps us fix things faster.

Getting started

There is no account and no sign-in. On first launch you answer a few questions and CoachCian builds an adaptive training plan, stored on your device. Permissions (Health, Location and so on) are requested only when you first use the feature that needs them.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to create an account?

No. Everything works without a login. Your data lives on your device.

Why does it ask for Health and Location access?

Health is used to recalibrate your training paces from past runs and to save the runs you record so they appear in your Activity rings. Location records your run route, distance and pace. You can review or change these any time in iOS Settings.

Why does the run need "Always" location?

So your run keeps recording when your phone is locked or you switch to a music app. It is used only during an active run and a brief daily weather check.

How do I use the Apple Watch app?

Install CoachCian on your Apple Watch from the Watch app. It can record runs on its own, mirror a phone-tracked run, follow a planned route, and coach you with haptics and optional voice. If a run is interrupted, the watch recovers and saves it to Apple Health on next launch.

How do I connect Strava?

Go to Settings → Strava and authorize. CoachCian then uploads your own runs to your own Strava account. You can disconnect any time from the same screen.

How do I back up my data?

iCloud backup is optional and off by default. Turn it on in Settings; your runs, routes and plans are saved to your private iCloud Drive (heart-rate and power data are stripped first).

How do route and live-safety links work?

Sharing a route or starting a live-safety share creates a temporary, unguessable link that opens a read-only map in any browser and then expires. Live-safety links never include heart rate.

How do I delete my data?

Deleting the app removes all on-device data. To remove an iCloud backup, delete it from your iCloud Drive. There is no server-side account to delete.
